Running a table here

For DMs. What to read, what to hand your players, and how the site keeps your table’s place.

Read in this order

  1. The world primer (Worlds). Public, spoiler-free; it is also what your players read before session one. Send them the link.
  2. The Campaign Rules (Worlds → Campaign Rules). Spell points, the banned list, Concentration, the one-levelled-spell rule. Every class in the library already conforms.
  3. The module (Modules). DM only. Start with “Run It Tonight” and “Before Session 1”; the scene list is the contents on the right.
  4. The classes your players chose. Each world primer names who has each class there; the full rules are one click away.

Set up your table

  • Ask the librarian for a DM account, then open Library desk → DnD Library → Campaign Roster. Pick your campaign, tick your players. New players register as Players and show up there.
  • On your table’s page (My table, then your campaign), open Table settings: choose the world, the current module, and write the next session line. That line is the first thing your players see.

Sealing and releasing

Everything DM-only carries a green seal; players see the title and whom to ask, nothing else. A handout starts sealed. To release it, open the handout and use Release on its catalog card: the whole table, or chosen players only (the letter one character found). The same control sits in the module beside each scene’s handouts, and on your table page. Released players get an email; the table’s Slack channel gets a line.

Keeping your place

  • Scenes. Viewing the current module as its DM shows a tick box beside each scene. Tick as you go; your table page says “Continue: Scene 2.3” next time, on any device.
  • Recaps. After a session, Add a recap on your table page: what happened, the next-time note, the scene you reached (which ticks the scenes for you). Players can write journal entries beneath; you can pin or hide them.
  • Rulings. On any class, spell or item page, a DM’s note can be posted as a ruling for your table. Your players see it pinned under “At your table”; other tables never do.
  • Characters. Players create their character from the table page, with a DM-only section for secrets. The party list links each one.
